Established in December 1950, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees and other persons of concern. CHIEF OF SECTION, FINANCIAL CONTROL (P-5) IN BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

The Financial Control Section is responsible for the financial management and control of UNHCR accounts. In particular, it monitors adherence to UNHCR’s rules and procedures in financial transactions, provides guidance on the application of those rules and procedures, and monitors and reports on the financial accounts and performance of UNHCR.


 Education: Advanced university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Public Administration or related field.


 Work experience: A minimum of 15 years in the area of finance/accounting, of which at least 5 years in an inter-governmental public sector organization such as the UN. Solid experience in accrual accounting at international level (IPSAS or similar).
