Director: Programmes & Technical International Planned Parenthood Federation

IPPF is a global service provider and a leading advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all. We are a world-wide movement of national organisations working with and for communities and individuals.

Following a restructure IPPF is recruiting a new post - Director: Programmes and Technical. If you have the stature, intellect and leadership qualities to collaborate effectively in development, healthcare, political and academic environments, then join our Senior Management Team and play a key role in the implementation of IPPF’s Change Goals.

Leading our Programmes and Technical teams you will formulate and implement global service delivery; information and education programmes; and technical strategy to realize IPPF’s Change Goals. You will position IPPF at the cutting edge of programmes and technical leadership. With international travel you will lead on all technical issues relating to SRHR, in particular: Abortion, Access, HIV/AIDS and Adolescents programmes. That includes institutional capacity and competency development across the Federation to address current and emerging technical trends; ensuring integration between our technical specialisms; ensuring that quality and innovation are key to programme delivery; strengthening and forging new partnerships with UN, Governments, private sector and civil society on emerging technical issues; and taking an active role on our International Medical Advisory Panel.

You have significant Board level programmatic and technical experience within the international and development arena. You have an in-depth knowledge of SRHR and health systems strengthening. You have a track record of leadership in programmatic and technical delivery strategy design, implementation and evaluation. You have extensive experience working with senior clinical specialists in diverse political, cultural and religious settings. You have a proven track record of delivering high quality complex projects to deadline and to budget.

You are a competent people manager and have strong and creative leadership skills. You have highly developed business expertise and political acumen. You are a seasoned spokesperson with exceptional communication skills and fluent English. Other languages are advantageous. You have a post-graduate degree / doctorate in medicine or equivalent standard of education.
