Medical Officer: Sessions
(2 hours per day, 5 days per week)
Salary: R73 632-R107 604 per annum (plus benefits) (Ref. North: PHEN0329(R); South: PHES0922)

Minimum requirements: • A medical degree, ie MBChB (NQF7 with 360 credits) • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa • A valid driver’s licence • Relevant medical experience.

Core responsibilities: • Provide medical care to patients by assessing them and recording their medical history • Examine patients and make diagnoses • Prescribe medicine and/or give health education • Monitor patients’ response to treatment • Handle medical emergencies at Primary Healthcare level • Assist and empower nurses to render quality primary healthcare services • Complete daily statistical forms.
