ELECTRO-MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN (WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN/SUPERVISOR)

The company is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual for the following position:

ELECTRO-MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
(WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN/SUPERVISOR)

The organisation seeks a committed Technician to support Supervisors and Maintenance Managers and report directly to the Engineering Manager in the Technical Services department, who will provide technical input and guidance when required to ensure equipment standards meet required quality standards and ensure service delivery is improved on a continuous basis.

The successful candidate will conduct fault finding on and subsequently repair and test wastewater engineering equipment such as vertical submersible pumps, horizontal pumps, gearboxes, motors, valves and other related wastewater operations equipment. Additionally, he/she will manage the technical workshop and its logistical requirements, which will include formulating and implementing systems required for the workshop and warehouse operations, planning and prioritising work, maintaining a high standard of housekeeping, following the relative safety procedures and responding to emergency situations after hours, if required.

In order to be considered, you must be qualified as a Trade Tested Millwright with an N6 Diploma/Certificate, and exhibit at least 10 years’ experience as a Senior Artisan/Technician with extensive, hands-on experience in plant machinery repairs (5 of which should have been in wastewater pumps and water-related machinery repairs and fault finding). Computer literacy (Windows) is imperative, as is possession of your own tools, a valid Code 08 driver’s licence and your own transport.
