Located in the Laverton region, AngloGold Ashanti Australia's Sunrise Dam is one of Western Australia's premier gold mines. This open pit and underground operation employs more than 600 people and produces approximately 350,000 oz of gold per annum. Operating on an attractive 8/6 fly-in fly-out roster, Sunrise Dam boasts excellent accommodation and facilities.

We are now seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our Underground Technical Services Department based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.

Accountable to the Underground Technical Services Manager this role is responsible for reviewing the existing data from the life of mine process. You will also be responsible for producing realistic designs and schedules for short-term planning and production systems. This role is FIFO 8/6 from Perth.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Review existing data and produce designs from mine 24D
• Produce schedules using EPS
• Chair handover meetings with the Short-Term planning and grade control functions,
• Produce an 18 month rolling updates to the Medium and Long-Term Systems Manager
• Assist in producing annual updates of the five-year mine plan
• Develop safe work procedures, in line with Long-Term and Medium-Term design and scheduling system policies
• Contribute to the development and execute the requirements of the Long-Term and Medium-Term design business plan.
• Continuously improve the Long and Medium-Term Planning process; in line with BPF, sustainability considerations (safety, environment and community), and compliance requirements (statutory, regulatory, policy, work standards and governance)
• Identify, assess and manage risks in order to improve reliability, quality and confidence of operational performance of the Medium Term Planning process

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Microsoft Office software
• Mine 24D software
• EPS Scheduling software
• Previous experience in mine planning
• Experience of drill and blast methods and practices (bulk open stoping)
• Knowledge of ventilation systems
• Practical Mining experience

Underground Engineering Mining experience will be highly regarded.
