Teacher Certification and
Accreditation of Teacher Training Institutions in Afghanistan Project
World University Service of Canada (WUSC) invites applications from suitably qualified individuals who wish to be considered for one of the following roles:
- Project Field Manager: The Project Field Manager is a full-time position based in Kabul, with some travel within Afghanistan and periodic visits to Canada required.
- Technical Advisors: the Technical Advisor positions will be part-time for a specified number of contract days. The majority of the work for the technical advisors will take place in Kabul, with some travel within Afghanistan required. We are inviting applications for the following technical advisor positions:
Background
WUSC has been contracted by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to provide consulting, professional and technical services under the Teacher Certification and Accreditation of Teacher Training Institutions in Afghanistan Project (TCAP). The primary objective of the project is to establish a system for the certification of teachers and the accreditation of teacher training institutions in Afghanistan. This system will be established in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Provincial Education Departments in Afghanistan. In parallel, it is expected that project will develop the capacity of the MOE and other partners to effectively manage/maintain/improve the established system/structure for teacher certification and the accreditation of the teacher training institutions.

Review of applications will commence on 15 August 2012 and will continue until the positions are filled. Subject to final project funding approval, the successful candidates will be expected to take up their duties effective 1 October 2012.
