An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and committed professional to join Australia’s leading international volunteer sending agency – a valuable contributor to the sustainable development in a wide range of communities.
We are currently recruiting for a Country Manager – Fiji and Kiribati, to be based in our office in Suva.Reporting to the Manager Regional Operations (based in Melbourne), this position will manage a small team and office with responsibility for ensuring the coordinated delivery of a high quality Volunteer Program in Fiji and Kiribati. This is a 2 year maximum term contract.
The successful applicant will possess the following;
· Demonstrated program management experience – with a focus on project/program development and implementation and monitoring as well as security, risk and critical incident management
· Previous volunteer/deployee management experience – especially experience dealing with wellbeing support, conflict and sensitive issues
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
· Working knowledge of development issues in the region and well-developed cross cultural awareness
· Strong administrative, financial and problem solving skills – experience managing a small office will be well-regarded
· Previous staff management, preferably in an international context
