Marketing Manager-Essential Medicine

The Manager – Marketing and Communications for Essential Medicines will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of an ambitious, large-scale marketing campaign to increase awareness around the recommended zinc and ORS treatment for diarrhea. This large-scale demand generation effort will incorporate mass media, social mobilization and inter-personal communication (IPC) to increase awareness and demand for zinc and ORS. A key element of the work is around leveraging other efforts by partners around behaviour change communication to incorporate messages on zinc and ORS usage for diarrhea management.

Responsibilities:

The Program Manager will be expected to:

  • Develop and implement a large-scale nation-wide demand generation effort that incorporates various forms of media, social mobilization and inter-personal communication (IPC) to increase awareness and demand for zinc and ORS
  • Develop a well-defined understanding of the issue and develop creative briefs for the campaign design
  • Manage the selection process of one or more creative agencies to develop the campaign
  • Manage all aspects of campaign management including campaign planning, budgeting, media buying etc.
  • Develop a robust media strategy that will ensure maximum value for money and incorporates use of innovative media and non-media options.
  • Manage the relationship with the creative agency and be the interface between the creative team and team at CHAI for rolling out an effective campaign.
  • Monitoring and reporting performance reports for the Campaign.
  • Working closely with NGO partners and Government on the program.
Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English & Hindi
  • Minimum of 4 - 7 years experience in advertising or marketing functions in the private sector, with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership
  • Experienced in promoting Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or Over-the-Counter (OTC) healthcare products to rural markets
  • Advanced degree, preferably a MBA
  • Strong data management/excel skills
  • Highly entrepreneurial and with strong self-motivation
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating various stakeholders/interests and developing strong relationships in order to drive a process successfully
  • Strong problem solving skills and analytical capabilities, as well as creative thinking capabilities
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and be effective under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work independently, flexibly and responsively, with a strong commitment to excellence.
