DNA Program Coordinator/ Deputy Training Coordinator International Commission on Missing Persons

To manage all aspects of the ICMP Iraq DNA program, ensuring program specifications are met.
•To observe and maintain the highest standards of DNA sampling, storage, transport and processing, in line with current ICMP practices.
•To report on all aspects of the ICMP Iraq DNA Program to senior managers during monthly management reviews and provide monthly written reports.
•To coordinate, with other ICMP expert staff, programs of public outreach and DNA reference sample collection to permit large scale DNA identification.
•To coordinate, with other ICMP expert staff, training and advisory activities related to technical aspects of DNA identification, working closely with Iraqi counterparts.
•To coordinate, and where necessary, participate in ICMP training activities that may involve visiting scientists or non-ICMP personnel and non ICMP facilities.
•To coordinate and communicate with relevant managers and the Director of FSD when organizing training to ensure activities are in line with operational capacity, budget and resource availability for ICMP Iraq project.
•To assist with creation, as appropriate, of new guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other QMS documentation related to ICMP forensic programs.
•To participate in working groups/committees as needed, interacting with and advising international, donor and Iraqi partners on forensic training, mass grave investigation and forensic science matters.
•To assist with coordination with Iraqi partners in the development of forensic database tools suitable for Iraq.
•To identify, train and coach individuals such as ICMP national staff coordinators/ instructors as needed.
•To coordinate and facilitate the DNA technical training program in Iraq, including the delivery, documentation and maintenance of records relating to the DNA technical training program.
•To ensure the aims and objectives of DNA technical training program are achieved, including reaching any milestones that have been identified.
•To work closely with FSD Training coordinator on the development of DNA technical training materials being applicable for the Iraq DNA technical training program.
•To identify any potential knowledge gaps that trainees may have and the proposition of solutions.
•To work closely with FSD training coordinator on the continuous improvement of DNA technical training materials being used for Iraq DNA technical training program.
•To make continuous improvements to the delivery of DNA technical training in Iraq based on evaluation process.
•To be responsible for reporting back to FSD Training Coordinator on all aspects of the FSD technical training program being undertaken in Iraq.
•To monitor the documentation and maintenance of records for all FSD technical training in Iraq, to ensure all technical training programs are taking a standardized and documented approach to training procedures.
•To produce regular updates/reports on progress of FSD technical training program in Iraq and communicate these to the relevant managers.
•To ensure open communication channels between FSD technical training program in Iraq and ICMP HQ maintained and act as a point of contact on DNA and FSD technical training program in Iraq.
•Promotion of a positive learning and development environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
•Advanced degree in forensic science or molecular biology, or a related discipline
•Extensive technical expertise in forensic DNA analysis
•Experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of training programs as well as conducting training needs analyses
•Experience in the organization and management of training programs
•Desirable to hold or be working towards a recognised training and development qualification
•Experience in project management methods and techniques
•Excellent organizational skills accompanied by effective and persuasive communication skills
•Administrative, statistical and analytical skills
•Managerial, supervision and team building skills accompanied by the ability to work under pressure, as an individual and as part of a team
•International experience an asset
•Ability to live and work in Iraq, with travel as necessary between Baghdad, Erbil, and Sarajevo for extended periods of time.
