Job Purpose
This new and exciting role requires the leadership and development of the Heathrow finance function by combining both Heathrow Operations and the overarching Heathrow strategy. You need to be proactive and progressive, seeking continual improvement in process and outcomes and contribute to the development and implementation of business critical decisions and strategies.
Working with the Heathrow leadership teams to shape and execute their business strategy as well as working in partnership across two leadership teams providing business guidance and demonstrating commercial acumen.

Principal Accountabilities

Reporting to Operations Finance Business Partner, this role is responsible for delivering the following business outcomes;

  • Provide finance leadership to the Heathrow leadership teams
  • Deliver Finance / Business Plans, ensuring clear plans for delivery through to achievement
  • Monthly Management Accounts oversight, with a focus on long term forecast accuracy
  • Develop long term sustainable financial visions for the business areas and gain their genuine buy-in
  • Lead the financial modelling for strategic reviews across all areas of the Heathrow business
  • Development of business intelligence infrastructure and toolset to support decision making and business performance management
  • Lead supplier contractual negotiations alongside procurement and the business area
  • Lead proposals for revenue opportunities alongside the business area
  • Lead manpower reviews alongside resource planning and the business area to challenge waste and to increase productivity
  • Develop audit procedures within the department to ensure audit compliance
  • Finance Lead on all Heathrow Airport Limited Non Regulated Charges Groups
  • Direct line management and professional development of a team of 2
  • Contribute, challenge and engage with the Operations Finance Leadership Team

Essential Qualifications

  • Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA or equivalent)

Experience

  • Finance and/or Commercial background
  • Budgetary control and business/financial planning
  • Proven capability to prioritise work, work under pressure and operate to tight deadlines

Expertise

  • Advanced excel skills
  • In depth knowledge of airline accounting processes and procedures
