Information Architect for Website Management and Tech Support, USAID/PPL

Background:

Social Impact (SI) is a Washington, DC-area international development management consulting firm. We provide a full range of innovative program evaluation, management consulting, technical assistance, and training services to strengthen international development programs, organizations and policies. Our global services are in the areas of democracy and governance, health and education, agriculture, the environment, and economic growth.

Objective:

Social Impact is crafting a proposal in response to a task order issued by USAID requesting services for the Bureau for Policy, Planning and Learning (PPL) to leverage the existing ProgramNet web platform to build the capacity of USAID staff to implement the ‘program cycle.’ The goals are to directly determine strategic priorities, opportunities and tradeoffs for better planning, design and implement results-based projects, to monitor and evaluate what is working and what is not, and to collaboratively learn and feed knowledge back into strategic planning, programming and future policy development for better development results. SI is seeking a mid-level Information Architect to manage the ProgramNet platform and provide technical support.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

The Information Architect will be responsible for:

  • Managing the ProgramNet platform, this includes:
    • Ensuring the site is compliant with all protocols,
    • Uploading documents,
    • Collecting and indexing examples,
    • Regularly reviewing and adjusting website architecture,
    • Working with core team to identify knowledge gaps
  • Coordinating online vents on the website and energizing networks by:
    • Back-end facilitation of communities, blogs, and discussion forums.
  • Support the technology behind computer-mediated learning activities and content on ProgramNet such as:
    • eTDYs,
    • Audio interviews,
    • Webinars,
    • Online modules.

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in information technology;
  • Experience with HTML, JAVA, C# is highly preferred;
  • At least 5 years of experience design/developing websites, preferably for government agencies or contractors;
  • Firm understanding of multi-method approaches to online learning;
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
