Overview and Mission

The International Diabetes Federation’s (IDF) Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme gives young university graduates, and young qualified professionals the opportunity to obtain training and exposure to IDFs work in the field of diabetes and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). All JPO posts are based at the Federation’s Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. This scheme is open to EU nationals only.

The Marketing & Communications JPO will assist the Communications and Congress Departments in the preparation of IDF’s key event – The World Diabetes Congress to be held in 2013 in Melbourne, Australia.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help implement marketing campaign strategies;
  • Write, design and coordinate distribution of marketing materials;
  • Conduct market researches;
  • Support in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations;
  • Assist in preparing media lists and contacting media;
  • Assist in e-communications (website, database, image library) and social media (Facebook & Twitter);
  • Report to the Head of global communications and will give general support to Industry and Logistics Coordinator
