Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Officer

Contract: D1 National - (Entry Level Salary Kshs 168,462)

Reporting to the MEAL Coordinator, the MEAL Officer will support in establishing and managing the monitoring and evaluation system for an ECHO funded Consortium of 6 international Organisations.

The MEAL officer will work closely with the consortium partners to ensure accountability to beneficiaries and learning from programme implementation which will include supporting and working closely with the consortium partners to establish standardised accountability systems, facilitating monitoring reviews and project impact documentation.

H/she will support partners in monthly reporting, compiling consortium progress monitoring reports and participate in Technical Support Unit meetings.
The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of a programme database, data analysis and support donor reporting.

S/he will be the focal point for MEAL issues in the programme support unit and will work closely with the Consortium Lead to ensure programme quality by supporting field teams (through field visits), training on aspects of MEAL and reporting on programme impact.

The incumbent will design monitoring tools, reporting templates, track progress against programme indicators and support evaluation processes at agreed programme timelines.
To be considered for this position, you will possess a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Project Management, Disaster Management or Statistics from a recognised University or closely related fields.

You must also have demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning and possess at least 5 years of direct, “hands-on” working experience in building and operating monitoring and evaluation of projects/programs implemented in ASAL regions preferably working in consortium.
