Social Impact Department of State Global Evaluation Experts

Background:

Social Impact (SI) is a Washington, DC-area management consulting firm. We provide a full range of innovative program evaluation, management consulting, technical assistance, and training services to strengthen international development programs, organizations, and policies. Our global services are in the areas of democracy and governance, health and education, agriculture, the environment, and economic growth, as well as cross-cutting issues such as gender and capacity-building.

Objective:

SI is seeking short-term consultants to evaluate Department of State (DoS) programs and build evaluation capacity within DoS, in accordance with the Department’s February 2012 evaluation policy that requires evaluations of large programs. In 2012, DoS is expected to request up to 60 distinct evaluations covering a wide range of technical areas or sectors.

Qualifications:

Candidates should meet the following criteria to be considered:

• Demonstrated experience with the Department of State is required;
• Advanced degree in social sciences or relevant field;
• Experience organizing and facilitating evaluations is highly preferred;
• Fluency in English is required; additional language abilities, highly preferred;
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise, technical assistance, and training experience in one or more of the core DoS areas of specialization below is highly desirable:
