Department

The Media Planning department is responsible for applying the principles of media planning, marketing and advertising and using all available audience data to create the most audience focused promotions schedule.

Role

The key tasks within this role will be to manage the scheduling and placement of promotional media on BBC inventory, ensuring that 100% of the channel junction airtime is scheduled effectively.

You will be responsible for implementing campaign media plans, co-ordinating with Creative Marketing and agencies as appropriate, whilst acting as a guardian of the BBC promotional airtime, developing an in-depth knowledge of media inventory.
 
You will also liaise with Programme Planners to ensure that schedule works to time and meets all the requirements of transmission, whilst working with unavoidable late changes to campaigns and schedules.
 
Monitoring and tracking channel playout and informing Media portfolio leads and campaign planners on campaign performance issues is key.

Requirements

You will bring to the role significant TV/radio/digital broadcast experience in media planning working within a broadcasting company, advertising, media or research agency, as well as experience of dealing with colleagues from within your own department, with a clear track record showing the ability to command respect amongst staff at all levels.
 
Knowledge of audience data and ability to analyse, interpret and apply media research is key, as is a demonstrable understanding of the commercial broadcast marketplace.

You will have a knowledge of television/radio/digital audience scheduling and evaluation systems, alongside an understanding and application of media research and marketing within a broadcast environment.
