International Program Officer
The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), a 501©4 trade association, seeks a Program Officer for its international energy regulatory programs.  This position is for 12 months, with the possibility for extension depending on grant funding and performance. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The organization offers a generous benefits package. The candidate will work primarily on energy regulatory programs for African and Latin American countries.   
 
Responsibilities: organize international exchanges, meetings, study tours, training programs, conferences (including logistics: travel, hotel, meals, visas, insurance, interpretation, etc.); draft correspondence, press releases; implement monitoring and evaluation plan; conduct research; maintain files & databases; prepare financial/expenditure documents, expense reports, and project budgets.
 
Requirements: 3+ years professional experience in a related field; experience coordinating international and domestic workshops and study tours; experience working as a committed team player; strong communication, organizational, analytical and writing skills. Knowledge of the nonprofit field and/or USAID grant requirements desired, especially familiarity with J-1 visa processing. Knowledge of public energy utility sector very useful. Fluency in French and/or Spanish highly desirable. International and domestic travel required (approx 25% of time).
