British Council in Kuala Lumpur is recruiting a team of Trainers to work on the Professional Development Programme for English Language Teachers (PDP4ELT) based in Malaysia.
This new project is in partnership with the Ministry of Education in Malaysia. It aims to strengthen English language teaching and learning through a blended training approach including quality face to face delivery, supported distance learning and integrated proficiency and methodology training.

This is an excellent career development opportunity for teacher trainers to broaden their academic and professional skills. The post holder will be part of a project to deliver quality development opportunities for primary and secondary English language teachers working in Malaysian government schools in order to develop their English language proficiency and teaching skills and knowledge, and monitor and support their ongoing professional development.

The post holder will provide cluster training and support using global products to a core group of 80 state school teachers (groups of approx 20). Working independently and sometimes in remote and/or challenging contexts, this post will suit autonomous self-starters looking to make a difference in a unique working environment and location.Each trainer will be responsible for training in two schools/venues not more than 45 minutes away from each other by taxi or public transport.

To be considered, you will have an undergraduate degree with a Cambridge CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL, or a Diploma-level EFL qualification i.e. Cambridge DELTA/TrinityDipTESOL and/or PGCE in TESOL, together with the relevant teaching/training experience as specified on the role profile. You should also have a high proficiency in English.

Under Malaysian Law we are only able to obtain work permits for those who are between the ages of 22 and 60 and who hold at least an undergraduate degree.
