English Teachers for our centre in Hong Kong.
Note: As this is a rolling recruitment exercise, please note that you are not applying for a specific start date in British Council Hong Kong. Your application may be held on file for up to 6 months and we will consider you for our next active recruitment exercise.   

We are keen to appoint staff who can demonstrate good professional skills, are very experienced in teaching young learners in addition to adults and are willing and able to learn and develop. There are two contract types available 30 or 35 hours where you will either teach 18 or 21 hours a week.  If you are recruited from outside of Hong Kong it is likely that you would be offered a 35 hour contract.   T

he Hong Kong teaching centre is a large centre, teaching a range of Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary Young Learner and Adult courses. Please note that due to operational requirements you will work a Wednesday to Sunday timetable (with a Mon- Tues weekend) or Saturday to Wednesday timetable (with a Thurs – Fri weekend).    

You should be a highly proficient speaker of English. You will have an undergraduate degree and be TEFL-I qualified (CELTA or Trinity TESOL) with extensive experience teaching kindergarten, primary, secondary and adults. A TEFL-Q qualification (DELTA or Trinity DipTESOL) and a qualification to teach young learners such as the YL extension to CELTA or BCTYLEC is desirable. You should be committed to further training and we provide a range of development opportunities to enable our teachers to obtain recognised qualifications. If you do not currently have a qualification to teach young learners such as TYLEC, the Cambridge Extension to CELTA or an Early Years Level 3 qualification we will expect you to obtain the qualification within your first year with us.
