The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Manager Contracts - Brownfield Projects & Development, in executing the Brownfield Capital Projects Contracting Strategy.
Key Accountabilities
Position SpecificSupporting the Manager Contracts - Brownfield Projects & Development in:
• Creating and seeking endorsement of Individual Contracting Strategies through formal tender board submission
• Responding to and establishing Contracting Strategies in support of Contract Requests
• Undertake market research in order to select optimal Contracting Strategies
• Compiling ITTs (Invitation to Tenders), Tender Evaluation Plans and Negotiation Strategies
• Coordinating the bidding, evaluation, negotiation and award process in accordance with C & P Standard
• Prepare Contract Synopsis, Contract Management Plans, Recommendations for Award and Contract Approval Forms
• Establish commercially sound and robust contracts
• Support the contracts administration function in variations, claims, cost control, scheduling and reporting
• Engage in the Requisition to Pay SAP process to ensure Purchase Orders are in place for awarded Contracts and Variations
• Ensure tracking systems are maintained for all contractual activities through Company’s Contracts Management System ‘ProCon’
• Ensure key stakeholders are adhering to C & P Standard
• Upholding and ensuring compliance with QGC’s HSSE requirements and business principles, both within the organisation, and with contractors and subcontractors

People Management• The incumbent must adhere to the annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within appropriate timeframes

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience• Experience in category and contracts and procurement management covering market research, strategy development, tendering, negotiation, contract implementation, administration and supplier relationship management
• Demonstrable Contracts and Procurement experience in the Oil and Gas or Mining industries in a project or asset environment
• Detailed market knowledge of a minimum of 5 key industry areas (e.g. engineering, civil, fabrication, E & I, Mechanical and procurement, etc)
• Experience of formulating and administering different contract types (e.g. EPCM, EPC, lump sum, schedule of rates and reimbursable contracts in particular)
• Experience using SAP and Procon software packages, desirable
