CIMERWA Ltd is Rwanda´s largest cement manufacturer with a capacity of 100,000 tons of cement per year. PPC Ltd from South Africa has recently acquired 51% stake in CIMERWA Ltd. The company operates a wet process technology plant in Muganza Sector, Rusizi District in Western Province. As part of the envisaged plans is to invest in a new, bigger and more efficient cement plant to meet the country´s growing demand for cement.
The new plant is to be a state of the art facility with an installed capacity of 600,000 tons per year, employing the latest automated computer controlled technologies (dry processing) that are more efficient.
The following opportunities are currently available at CIMERWA Ltd as detailed out below:
7. Project Manager
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Engineering
2. Registered Project Management Professional or hold MDP certificate or equivalent
Experience:
1. Minimum 10 years engineering experience in heavy industry, mining or similar industry.
2. Minimum 15 years proven project management experience. General management experience will be an advantage;
3. Minimum relevant post-graduation experience of 20 years
4. Expert in the application of project management knowledge through the nine areas: Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, HR, Communications, Risk and Procurement;
5. Ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams;
6. Ability to negotiate and manage relationships with stakeholders, contractors and support specialists at a senior management level is essential.
7. Good business, technical and financial skills are required in all areas of cement production, general mining and project management.
8. The Project Manager will need the appropriate skills to manage the general business environment using Senior Project Managers, consultants, internal services and external service providers and all internal customers.

2. Project Scheduling
3. Safety Health and Environmental best practice application
4. Legal responsibilities / liabilities;
5. English speaking. French is an added advantage, but not a requirement.
