The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel. QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Position Summary
The purpose of this role is to provide effective support to the General Manager Land & Community in developing and implementing sustainable models for the coexistence of gas production in an operationally safe, diverse and productive rural business. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific• Identify short and long term coexistence issues and priorities and develop strategies and programs to minimise impacts on agricultural landholders in an economic and sustainable way• Identify opportunities to create benefits to agricultural landholders in an economic and socially sustainable way • Lead and facilitate the implementation of specific programs to address coexistence requirements in line with budget, schedule and performance criteria • Identify and develop relationships that support and build awareness of QGC’s coexistence programs and culture • Facilitate the involvement of a broad range of internal stakeholders to identify, prioritise and implement coexistence programs • Manage and co-ordinate a schedule of lessons learnt, risks and mitigation measures in the coexistence of gas and agriculture • Manage the documentation, communication and reporting of program successes and recommended improvements • Provide advice to stakeholders on Land & Community process and policy • Manage and coordinate the delivery and adoption of QGC’s Landholder Safety policies and procedures to enhance the safe operating interface of private and public landholders with gas-related infrastructure People Management• The incumbent must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE)• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience• Considerable experience in Oil and Gas, preferably with a Land Access background;
• Experience in agricultural production and management systems; • Experience liaising and influencing various stakeholders including Landholders, Contractors, business communities and associations; • Previous experience working within the Surat and Bowen Basin or similar field environment from a land management perspective; • Experience working within government regulations; • Previous experience in a role requiring the incumbent to solve urgent, complex issues • Demonstrated experience operating in a role which required building and maintaining strong professional relationships with stakeholders • Demonstrated experience in facilitating change in a complex operating environment Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes• Clear understanding of the application and importance of HSSE interface between gas and rural operating systems • Specific demonstrated knowledge of a range of agricultural production and operating environments • Sound regulatory knowledge: • Environmental Protection Act • Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act • Cultural Heritage Act • Knowledge of CSG construction and operating programs • Knowledge of sustainable agricultural systems relating to grazing, grain and irrigated crop production • A high level of computer literacy relating to electronic communications e.g. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word • Effective verbal and written skills • Sound analytical skills • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills in a complex operating environment • Ability to manage a broad agenda with numerous and changing priorities • Ability to gather and consolidate information from various sources, identify key issues and report to key stakeholders in a concise manner • Ability to build relationships to influence change • Ability to drive results in a complex, ever-changing environment • Ability to implement programs across numerous functional areas • Ability to negotiate, manage and deliver outcomes for diverse stakeholder group at all levels • Ability to work independently in a complex operating environment. • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise effectively
