Environment Affairs Manager Europe Tetra Pak


We are looking for an Environment Affairs Manager Europe (temporary for approx. 10 months) to join our Environment Affairs team in Brussels, which is part of Tetra Pak’s Global Environment organization. It provides support to Tetra Pak's commercial operations and markets around the world and leads the company’s engagement in European environment policy developments. Tetra Pak is an environmentally responsible company offering  environmentally preferred packaging and processing solutions through driving and supporting corporate policies, programs and actions.
Key areas of responsibility for the Environment Affairs Manager Europe:
  • Coordinate and implement EU environment advocacy activities, specifically waste, packaging, EPR;
  • Act as Tetra Pak point of contact on specific issues; gather information, liaise with EU officials, set-up meeting with external stakeholders, help drafting Tetra Pak positions;
  • Work with industry associations on key EU environment issues  (e.g. ACE, EUROPEN, CEPI);
  • Monitor developments, gather and evaluate information;
  • Carry-out stakeholder mappings;
  • Provide written internal briefings on key EU environment advocacy issues;
  • Provide support to and coordinate with Tetra Pak environment responsibles in EU countries, support to global environment advocacy activities on packaging waste legislative issues;
  • Prepare presentations.
Requirements
  • Master Degree in Engineering & Science
  • 5 years of experience in EU public affairs in Brussels
  • In-depth knowledge of EU legislative and political decision-making procedures
  • Proven knowledge of EU environment policy, knowledge of waste and packaging waste legislation as well as EPR compliance schemes (recovery organizations)
  • General knowledge of packaging recycling of advantage
  • Experience of corporate business environment an advantage
  • Fluent in French and English (mother-tongue level) and excellent writing skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
