International Business Officer London Chamber of Commerce and Industry

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is the Capital’s biggest independent business support organisation with c.2,400 members. Its services include the provision of business information, lobbying, networking and a range of business services including international trade promotion and facilitation as well as export documentation.

LCCI is part of the Enterprise Europe Network London (EEN London) for which it delivers the information and matchmaking services. It provides information and advice on EU affairs, trade topics and business co-operation.

The Job

The primary purpose of the job is to provide administrative support to ensure the successful delivery of the EEN London project at the LCCI.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

Assist and support the Head of Team with the EEN London project to collect and gain evidence for project outputs through:
  • Tracking and Regular reporting on progress of EEN London targets and deliverables;
  • Maintaining systems to ensure achieved results are recorded and reported;
  • Monitoring the EEN’s intranet and forums;
  • Contributing to EEN’s deliverables (good practices, success stories etc.);
  • Representing EEN London at events, meetings and training sessions;
  • Preparing presentations about the EEN London project or on European topics related to the network’s activities;
  • Minute taking at regular consortium or any other EEN meetings;
  • Contributing to the realisation of any other projects as appropriate (e.g. EEN specific actions);
  • Other administrative duties as directed by the Head of Team.

Event Management

Plan EEN London trade missions and brokerage events, conferences, training and information days through:
  • Planning EEN London events including all logistics (as well as all administration);
  • Working closely with local stakeholders and co-organisers;
  • Working closely with other LCCI departments to ensure event collaboration;
  • Promoting events and recruiting participants.

Information/Customer relations

Respond to telephone and email enquiries from businesses and signposting them to services both within and outside the EEN London consortium as required through:
  • Answering EEN London enquiries;
  • Tracking of EEN London target achievements related to answering enquiries;
  • Logging company information for accurate reporting;
  • Contributing to EEN’s advisory services outcomes;
  • Monitoring and assisting the teams international interns dealing with enquiries;
  • Taking the lead in providing tender monitoring service to all interested companies.

Marketing & Communication

Assist with the preparation of e-newsletters, bulletins and articles and keeping the EEN London website updated through:
  • Preparing monthly e-bulletins;
  • Providing articles on EU news to other LCCI teams for LCCI publications and e-newsletters;
  • Updating information related to the team’s activities on the EEN London website;
  • Updating all social media presence;
  • Marketing of all events;
  • Contributing ideas and drafting new marketing material.

General Responsibilities

Observe the LCCI’s:

  • Liaising with both with other LCCI teams as well as with local stakeholders for ensuring the EEN’s visibility and the promotion of the team’s activities;

Skills and Aptitude

Essential:

  • previous working knowledge of EENs;
  • knowledge of European programmes;
  • excellent knowledge of English & an additional European language;
  • ability to develop strong working partnerships with third parties;
  • strong interpersonal and verbal communication;
  • tact and diplomacy;
  • good written communication;
  • negotiation skills;
  • good networking skills;
  • ability to multi-task;
  • strong time management and prioritisation;
  • travel (if required);
  • some out of hours working (e.g. early morning events);
  • confident in the use of all main Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of html.
