Process Engineer at Carlisle Brake & Friction

The Process Engineer plans, oversees, and coordinates activities associated with development, design, build, modification, and maintenance of processing and facilities equipment and machinery. Acts as the expert and oversees the controls and documentation of the processes. Documents the standard work for operation and maintenance of the processes and equipment. Audits the processes, day-to-day operation, and records to ensure compliance to the internal and external standards. Makes recommendations for improvement in terms of safety, cost savings, energy consumption, and productivity.

Specific Duties:

•Develops, evaluates, and improves compression molding and secondary operations.
•Updates/upgrades existing equipment for safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
•Partners with equipment suppliers; specifies and manages installation of new equipment and upgrades.
•Standard work to include: processing, change-over, material movement, identification, packaging, etc.
•Cost analysis and improvement.
•Provides rapid response for Production and Maintenance.
•Problem solving.
•Acts as a training resource for Production and Maintenance.
•Responsible for, but not limited to: mixers, molding friction, paint, washers, shoe assembly, brake assembly, and material flow

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university and at least 5 years experience as a process engineer. Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles. Basic electricity and PLC experience or ability to learn.
