We’re looking for an innovative Senior Economic Analyst with a flair for producing insightful economic research to play a key role in underpinning our policy and campaigning work.
In the current economic environment Shelter needs to stay informed of new developments and to reflect strong economic and market insight in our work. This exciting role will use economic and analytical expertise to provide invaluable advice to our policy team. It will also carry out analytical research and make sure we accurately measure the outcomes and impact of our work.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Developing our strategic economic and analytical capability and helping to raise our profile
  • To work closely with colleagues to develop economic and statistical research projects to meet Shelter’s strategic priorities.
  • To provide expert advice on appropriate methodologies (including cost benefit analysis and return on investment) for undertaking analysis and apply them in project work
  • Briefing senior colleagues on trends in external economic trends and indicators and how they affect policy
And what you’ll need:
  • A graduate or post-graduate qualification in economics (or other quantitative social science)
  • A general research background, a grounding in economics and a track record of producing quality market analysis
  • A proven ability to communicate tailored research effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Strong project management and organisational skills that ensure outputs are delivered on time and to budget
  • Experience of using SPSS or similar analytical packages, plus advanced Excel skills
