AFME Manager, Advocacy


The Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) represents a broad array of European and global participants in the wholesale financial markets. Its members comprise pan-EU and global banks as well as key regional banks, brokers, law firms, investors and other financial market participants. We advocate stable, competitive, sustainable European financial markets that support economic growth and benefit society.
We are currently seeking to fill a key vacancy in our Advocacy and Public Affairs Division. Based in either Brussels or London and active across the EU, this Manager position plays a key role working with Member firms and AFME's subject matter experts to help articulate and convey our messages to participants in the European policy-making process. The role is at the heart of AFME’s activities; analysing and influencing current and future European legislative, regulatory and public policy issues.
The successful candidate will mainly play a key role in supporting AFME’s engagement in policy and legislative initiatives relating to financial services and markets in the European Union, contribute strongly to AFME’s effective participation in the dialogue on financial services policy and regulatory development, contribute to AFME's advocacy efforts on behalf of the Global Financial Markets Association and support the work of AFME’s European Public Policy Committee.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of European financial services and their regulation, strong communication and advocacy skills, proven experience of building and maintaining relationships and flexibility and ability to work to tight deadlines. The person will also speak fluent English and at least  one other European Language.
