Senior Web Project Manager


ESN is looking for a full-time senior web-oriented communication project manager to work from its central Brussels offices. The successful candidate will report to the Project management director. The interview process will include a practical test.

Mission

Your task will be to manage major digital communication projects from launch to delivery, coordinating the development and implementation of communication systems to meet identified business needs within agreed parameters of cost, timescale, quality and methodology. Tasks will include:
  • definition of project goals and scope in consultation with clients
  • project design and specification
  • preparation and maintenance of project plans and progress-tracking
  • management of change requests
  • project team leadership and coordination of production across web, editorial, graphic design, multimedia and consulting disciplines
  • supervision of quality control
  • liaison with clients, reporting
  • budget follow-up
As well as ensuring the delivery of outstanding communication products, you will be expected to provide clients with high-quality professional advice and to anticipate and explore their future needs, in close cooperation with ESN’s dedicated consulting and sales functions.

Profile

We are looking for a self-starter who is creative, dependable, well-organised and meticulous, and who can stay cool under the pressure of tight deadlines. Candidates should have a strong background in communication, with practical working knowledge of a wide range of modern methods and tools.
Essential characteristics (please do not apply unless you match all of these):
  • Minimum four years successful communication project management experience in a commercial environment
  • A sound methodological approach, and a willingness to adopt project management tools and procedures specified by ESN
  • Familiarity with a broad range of modern web and social media communication technologies and approaches
  • General understanding of database-driven applications and CMS architectures
  • Diplomacy, excellent people skills and a strong commercial instinct
  • Good writing and presentational skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English, and at least conversational French
  • University degree (Bachelors or Masters)
Desirable characteristics:
  • Proven experience of managing large-scale web development projects
  • Formal qualification or proven practical experience with a recognised project management  methodology (such as PRINCE2) and its application to the communication services life-cycle
  • Proven experience in implementing and following quality procedures
  • Masters degree in Communication
