The Regional Manager, TAN ROADS - Njombe is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Tanzania Mainland's trunk and Regional roads network. Its primary functions include the management and development works, operations of the network and axle load control, the implementation of road safety and environmental measures, provision of advice on the strategic framework, policies and plans for the road sector.

The Regional Manager - TAN ROADS Njombe on behalf of the Chief Executive TAN ROADS is looking for open minded and creative candidates who are motivated to work within a modern and dynamic organization. TANROADS encourages applications from both men and women to fill the following positions on contract basis at the Regional Manager's office Njombe.

Driver (

Key Duties and Responsibilities
 Driving office Vehicles
Ensure the Vehicles he/she drives and accessories are always in good condition Keep movement records in log sheet
Understands defences while on road
Inspect the vehicles before and after "safari" in order to identify defects that may need maintenance.
Maintenance of the car
Any other duties related to his/her work.
Required Qualifications
Form IV
Class C driving Licence
Pass the agency's competitive interview work
More than 3 years experience
Age Not below 30
Terms of Employment:12 Months contract renewable
Remuneration:
According to TANROADS salary scale: TRS 2.1

Shift in Charge

Responsibilities
Enforcement of Road Traffic axle Load Control by the use of Weighbridge scale devices
Overall supervision of shift activities
Duties
Carrying out activities as described in the Roads Traffic (maximum Weight of Vehicle) Regulations, 2001. The activities include the following:
Weigh Motor Vehicles of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) ~ 3.500kg plying on our
Public Roads
If the vehicle is found 'overloaded the operator should impose road damage fees on the spot;
Measure physical dimensions of motor vehicle or, any load being carried on the motor vehicle, and in case of non-compliance with vehicle dimension limits, the transporter should be caused to seek for special permit;
Observe good customer care, dignity and integrity; vi) Report all matters to the Regional Manager;
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Regional Manager;
Key Qualifications
Age: Not above 40 and not below 35 years of age.
Educational minimum qualification
Holder of 1st degree in any profession, High qualification will have additional advantages;
Must be computer literate (at least Advanced certificate in computer Applications)
Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English languages
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen
Must pass Agency Competitive entry interview
Apart from professional qualifications candidates to assume these positions must be trustworthy; responsible, reliable, accountable, with integrity;

Weigh Bridge Operators 

Responsibilities
Enforcement of Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of Weighbridge Scale devices;
Duties
Carrying out activities as described in the Road Traffic (maximum Weight of vehicles) - Regulations, 2001. The activities include the following:
Weigh Motor Vehicles of Gross vehicle Weight (GVW) ~ 3,500kg plying on our
Public Roads.
If the vehicle is found overloaded the operator should impose road damage fee -on the spot;
Measure physical dimensions of motor vehicle or any load. Being carried on the
motor vehicle, and in case of non-compliance with vehicle dimension limits, the transporter should be caused to seek for a special permit;
Record all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being weighed. Observe good customer care, dignity and integrity
Report all matters to the Shift In-charge;
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the shift In-charge/Axle Load Control Supervisor.
Key Qualifications
Age: Not above 35 years of age.
Educational minimum qualification
Holder of Full Technician certificate in Civil, Mechanical or electrical Engineering (FTC); High qualification will have additional advantages
Must be computer literate (at least Advanced certificate in computer Applications)
Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English languages
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen
Must pass Agency Competitive entry interview
Apart from professional qualifications candidates to assume these positions must be trustworthy, responsible, reliable, accountable, with integrity;
Terms Of Employment
Two (2) Years Contract, Including Six (6) Months Probation Period.
The contract will be renewable on the Employers' discretion, which may be
based on performance. Other terms and Conditions shall be as stipulated in the
TANROADS Personnel Manual.

Cashier

Position Relationship
The successful candidates will report to the Head of Accounts and Administration.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Record properly all required weighbridge accounting information
Ensure that all necessary accounting forms at the weigh bridge station are properly filled and kept.
Provide reports on axle loading accounting procedures which may be required
Take care of weighbridge accountable documents.
Co-operate with the relevant parties involved in the axle control operations
Implement directives relating to axle load control from the high authority and station supervisor.
To receive money and issue receipts to defaulters
Ensure that all receipts are timely recorded and banked.
Maintain accurate records of receipts received/issued
Arranges the prompt payment of utility and other invoices related to the day to day running of the office.
Maintain defaulters register
Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by his/her
superior
Reporting all matters to the Shift in Charge/ Axle-Load control supervisor
Required Qualifications/Skill for Cashier
Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Accountancy or its equivalent from recognized
institution.
Holder of computer certificate and have working knowledge of software applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and other necessary computer experiences.
Must be fluent in both English and Kiswahili languages.
He/ She must pass the Agency's competitive entry interview
Minimum educational qualifications: Ordinary Secondary/Advanced Secondary
School Education.

Technician

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Depending on tasks assigned, inspect roads, tests materials, and supervises
Axle Load Control (Weighbridge) operations
Prepare work programmes and budgets
Prepare reports
Supervises contracts and force account operations I v) Perform such other duties from time to time
Required Qualifications/Skill For Technician
Full Technician certificate (FTC) holders from a recognized institute in civil, or its equivalent from recognized institution and those who have relevant experience of at least two years and pass Agency competitive entry interview.

 12 Months contract renewable

Typist Grade II

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Typing open and Confidential Memos, Letters, Diagrams, Report, Minutes, Circulars and other Office documents.
Drafting, Copying and Faxing documents
Receiving and Connecting Customers/Clients/Guests to Officers concerned. Ensuring quality production of booklets for report, projects papers.
Keeping records and retrieval
Attending telephone calls.
Maintaining Files.
Arranging and managing diary for appointments/commitments of Officer(s)
Taking/writing minutes
Control of file movements
Perform and other Secretarial duties as may be required by his/her supervisor.
Required Qualifications/Skills
Holders of National Form IV or VI Certificates and must have passed typing stage 11 with typing speed of not less than 40W.p.m office practice stage I  and must have worked as a Typist for at least two years, possess excellent word processing, spread sheet skills and pass the Agency's competitive entry interview.

Office Assistant 

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Cleans offices, washrooms and office premises Prepare and serves tea, coffee and refreshments Moves files and documents as directed
Undertakes photocopying and binding of documents as directed
Dispatches letters or parcels
Collecting letters from the post office
Ensuring office equipment is kept in proper place.
Ensuring windows and doors are closed and hand over office keys to the watch person after office hours
Ensuring lights and all electrical appliances are switched off after office hours
Required Qualifications / Skill
Holder of secondary education certificate
Must be able to communicate in English and Kiswahili He/ She must pass the Agency's competitive entry interview.
Terms of Employment:12 MONTHS CONTRACT RENEWABLE
