The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) with its Headquarters in Washington, D.C, U.S.A, is an international public health agency with over 100 years of experience in working to improve the health and living standards of the countries of the Americas.  PAHO is searching for:
Unit Chief, Program Budget
The person will be responsible for developing, presenting, monitoring and reporting on the Program Budget (PB) from the financial perspective.  The person also manages all aspects of the Organization’s operating budget, including both regular budget funds and voluntary contributions.
 The successful candidate will have:
  • A bachelor’s and master’s degree in public administration, business administration, management, public/policy economics, finance or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • 13 years of combined national and international progressively responsible experience in planning, organizing and controlling the corporate budget of a public, nonprofit or governmental organization with multiple funding sources.  Of these at least three years of progressive supervisory functions.
  • Very good knowledge of English or Spanish with a working knowledge of the other language.
Salary range: US$ 121,585.40 - US$ 130,977.42, net of income taxes. PAHO/WHO’s compensation package includes dependency benefits, pension plan, health insurance scheme, and 30 days annual leave.  Benefits for internationally recruited staff may include travel and removal expenses on appointment and separation, assignment grant, rental subsidy, and home leave.
