U.S. Fund for UNICEF Manager, Global Programs and Field Engagement

The key function of the Global Programs and Field Engagement Department is to improve efficiency and effectiveness as it relates to UNICEF engagement, proposal and report development, field visits, and the provision of program resources. The UNICEF Engagement section’s goal is to support and strengthen high-level engagement of UNICEF headquarters and field offices to more efficiently capitalize on UNICEF’s assets for the purpose of achieving USF’s strategic fundraising, education and advocacy goals. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Programs and Field Engagement Department, the Manager contributes to the mission and fulfillment of the Global Programs and Field Engagement goals as well as the larger Program and Community Engagement goals by supporting the Senior Director and assisting in matters related to UNICEF relations, program coherence, fundraising and grassroots initiatives.

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

•Cultivate, manage and grow relationships with key UNICEF program, policy and field colleagues
•Serve as lead in assessing the validity of data used in USF communications
•Review and edit key reports, proposals, and concept notes prepared for external donors and supporters
•Support the development and execution of the UNICEF program related components of the US Fund Annual Meeting 
•Develop briefs, one-pagers and materials for departments across the organization as well as the Program Committee of the Board and USF senior management
•Keep abreast of USF’s and UNICEF's programs and advising on new initiatives and possible synergies
•Make presentations and lead meetings externally with UNICEF colleagues and internally with USF staff about UNICEF programs and priorities
•Maintain UNICEF Information and Resources SharePoint with UNICEF programmatic resources and further developing its knowledge management capabilities for the larger Global Programs and Field Engagement Department
•Serve a lead role in developing and executing the ‘UNICEF Training’ for USF staff
•Manage outreach to UNICEF regarding UNICEF events and meetings at New York Headquarters for USF constituents and staff
•Support the follow-up and actions items from meetings and functions with UNICEF, the Program Committee of the Board and the USF Project Adoptions Committee
•Operate as a day-to-day focal point and UNICEF program resource for USF departments, including Regional Offices
•Manage the UNICEF Engagement temporary staff in coordinating UNICEF engagements across the United States 
•Supervise the Global Programs and Field Engagement interns and delegate tasks such as maintaining UNICEF information and research assignments, including maintaining a calendar of UNICEF events and meetings at New York Headquarters
•Administer PIDI data entry and conduct analysis for UNICEF Engagement and the Program Committee 
•Help to develop the UNICEF Engagement budget and monthly tracking
•Assist with special projects for the division, as needed
•Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in social sciences or related field and a minimum of 5 years related experience
•Proven ability to work under deadline pressure and handle multiple, complex projects simultaneously
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills including the ability to effectively liaise with people in diverse multi-cultural environments 
•Exceptional writing skills
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
•Interest in global issues
•Knowledge of UNICEF and the United Nations
•Experience using new technologies (such as Convio, social media platforms, and other communication vehicles) and databases (such as PIDI)
