Job Summary

Cardno ENTRIX is seeking an Archaeologist to help our cultural resources group and to work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished biologists, hydrologists, geologists, engineers and planners on a variety of projects in the Rockies/Northern Plains and the western United States. The majority of the projects will include cultural resources investigations for energy, transportation, other infrastructure, and federal and state agency projects.​

Key Responsibilities

  • Field and technical participation
  • Report and proposal writing
  • Research and mapping
  • Technical support to various projects

Other Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • MA or MS in Anthropology or Archaeology
  • 3 to 5 years of consulting experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in archaeological field investigations on the Northern Plains, including intensive survey
  • Experience working in the field on cultural resource projects including government and/or private sector contracts
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Strong business/client orientation
  • Ability to travel frequently to field sites & other Cardno ENTRIX office locations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to work well with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment
  • Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability to competently conduct files and literature search
  • Ability to conduct intensive field survey and cultural resource inventory, archaeological site testing, artifact and site analysis, National Register eligibility evaluation, along with report preparation
  • Ability to participate with professional discretion and judgment in meetings with clients and review/regulatory agencies and in marketing cultural resources and environmental services
  • Training in NHPA Section 106 and NEPA compliance preferred
  • Positive and energetic attitude
  • Self-motivated; strong initiative
  • Detail oriented; resourceful
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish) a plus
