Position Summary
This role is to assist in the delivery of the Brine Management Project, using the established procedures within the Water Solution team and QGC/BG business. 
This role is a lead position for both technical and commercial elements of the Brine Management to responsibly manage the 4.6 million tonnes of brine which will be produced by the QCLNG Project.
The individual will formulate, assess, review and evaluate through a multi-criteria approach brine technologies and their application (limitations) with a close liaison with key project (internal and external) stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities

Core Accountabilities
 Position Specific
  • Provide technical input to internal and external design processes for the Select Salt Recovery, Brine Pipeline and Regulated Waste Facility projects;
  • Liaison with collaboration partners (APLNG and ARROW) on all key collaboration projects;
  • Lead and co-ordination of tender evaluation processes;
  • Assist and co-ordinate with  Pre-FEED/FEED processes;
  • Lead and co-ordination of Pre-FEED/FEED studies with collaboration partners;
  • Lead preparation of schedules, review and recommendations for approval the status of programs;
  • Drive the technical input for the internal assurance processes;
  • Manage product volume and quality uncertainties throughout the (pre-)FEED activities to ensure cost effective flexibility.
  • Manage minor procurement activities;
  • Drive synergies with collaboration partners where technically and commercially advantageous;
  • Lead and co-ordinate management of the Contract Administration team;
  • Lead and co-ordinate assessment and response of major contractor claims;
  • Lead and co-ordinate resolution of variations and extension of time claims including coordinating responses from the relevant internal and external stakeholders;
  • Assist development of problem resolution within the context of project management, ensuring that all project interface issues, both internally and with third parties, are defined and resolved in a timely and effective manner;
  • Assist in preparation of weekly and monthly reports;
  • Contribute to the identification of risks and eliminate risks or implement mitigation measures. Input into risks, gaps and opportunity registers
  • In addition to these duties, the role requires such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by QGC.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

Experience Needed:
  • Extensive experience in the design and operation of a range of Water Treatment processes;
  • Extensive experience in evaporation and crystallisation technology including product recovery and Zero Liquid Discharge technologies;
  • Extensive understanding of water chemistry, including chemical modelling software e.g. OLI, PHREEQC and the relationship to treatment process operational efficiencies;
  • Experience in development of CAPEX and OPEX estimates in the water treatment and chemical manufacturing industries;
  • Substantial mechanical design and process engineering experience;
  • Verifiable record of accomplishment in a creative, front end or consultancy arena;
  • Interfaced with discipline specific contractors to support delivery of technical requirements;
  • Technical professional with wide exposure to diverse technical and business environments;
  • Ability to structure and prioritise ambiguity;
  • Experience with risk management and safety management;
  • Verifiable record in professional discipline and able to solve complex to abstract problems as well as supervise or provide technical guidance to juniors;
  • Verifiable record in the successful development and delivery of a number of complex projects in ‘medium’ to ‘high focus’ environments, with JV partners, green-field and brown-field;
  • Good understanding of relevant technologies, policies and business principles;
  • Skilled in the scope and application of required assurance processes associated with large scale capital projects;
  • Able to demonstrate the required level of commitment to HSSE;
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to manage interfaces and work closely alongside operations teams during the project definition, including detailed design and construction;
  • Sound understanding of the commercial impact of project and engineering decisions on the project;
  • Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome;
  • Deep experience in the application of project management process systems and tools;
  • Able to establish project execution strategies and plans including contract strategies;
  • Experience in commercial negotiations with engineering contractors and/or partners;
  • Experience of identifying project critical success factors and risk management practices.
