Position Summary
The Communication Lead will assist the Manager Water Strategy and Communication to maintain and communicate the water strategy for the QCLNG project to the wider QGC group and community. 
Water strategy involves multiple business areas and complex interfaces as upstream work scope progresses from desktop concept, is verified on the ground, access is granted, approvals obtained, contractors execute work packages and handover to Operations is completed.
Key aspects of the role include facilitating and implementing Make Good agreements, developing, maintaining and effectively communicating QGC’s water strategy, resolving bore complaints as well as supporting the Environment in updating and maintaining water management plans.
The team member will liaise with a diverse stakeholder group and will be required to deliver initiatives on time and on budget under the direction of Manager - Water Strategy.

Position Specific
 
The incumbent will be responsible for;
a ) Supporting the preparation of Make Good Agreements
  • Satisfying QGC’S obligation to make good under the Water Act 2000
  • Supporting stakeholder consultation and internal/external communication throughout the make good process.
  • Preparation and delivery of regular briefings to government departments (EHP and NRM) on project progress
b) Water Strategy
  • Assist the updating and currency of QGC’S Produced Water Management Strategy
  • Support the Manager Waster Strategy and Communication in communicating the strategy internally and externally
c)  Bore Complaints
  • Work with the Groundwater Team to manage bore complaints and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner
  • If required, assist with the landholder liaison in relation to bore managing and closing out bore complaints 
d)  Updating/Maintaining Water Management Plans
  • Assist with updating water management plans for both State and Federal governments such as the CWMP and Stage 3 WMMP
  • Provide support to the Environment in preparation of relevant plans and approvals 
e)  Communications
  • Develop and implement web-based water portal
  • Effectively communicate QGC’s Water Strategy to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain the currency of water information on QGC’s website 
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Required  
  • Experience working in energy or Oil & Gas, desirable
  • Understanding of environmental operational / legislative requirements working in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly those related to water management
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and improve complex business processes/systems that interface with a  broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical improvement solutions.
  • Strong ability to elicit and analyse business requirements and relate these to improvement solutions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with senior and peer-level staff
  • Proven ability to work as a team member
  • Experience with defining and measuring key performance metrics
  • Demonstrated experience with core Microsoft Office Packages (Visio, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Proven decision-making experience
  • Existing QGC networks and relationships are a plus.
