Scientific Advisor
Basic qualifications:
• Degree in pharmacy, chemistry or life science with experience in copy approval and a working knowledge of relevant statutory requirements (e.g. ABPI and/or PAGB Code of Practice and relevant EU Directives).
• An understanding of the changing consumer healthcare environment in which GSK CH operates.
• Demonstrate ability to show attention to detail
• Good customer focus and team player who has the ability to work with people from a large range of disciplines.

Details:
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide scientific advisory support for claims development and copy approval within the GSK Consumer Healthcare UK commercial business. To provide proactive input into claims development and marketing strategies by working closely with commercial and regulatory colleagues, maintaining high levels of compliance and supporting commercial aims and ambitions across a wide portfolio of consumer healthcare products.
Key Responsibilities :
• To provide authoritative opinion on scientific, legal and regulatory matters to support colleagues across GSK CH UK, enabling compliance with the relevant statutory requirements (e.g. ABPI and/or PAGB Code of Practice and relevant EU Directives).
• Reviews and critiques data proactively inputting into the development of new products and claims, working closely with colleagues across GSK UK.
• Review and approval of promotional materials generated by GSK CH UK across an agreed portfolio of products.
• Supports the creation and defence of code of practice challenges as appropriate. Provides specialist scientific support relating to claims.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The job holder reports to the Senior Scientific Advisor where the contact is for training, work tracking, advice on issues arising or strategy discussions.
The job holder with the support and advice from the Senior Scientific Advisor is responsible for ensuring that promotional materials generated by GSK CH UK across an agreed portfolio of products comply with the relevant regulations.
Accountability is to all members of marketing team on a day to day basis by product to deliver the requirements of the business plan. Also requires a close working relationship, where appropriate with category teams and PAGB copy review team.
COMPLEXITY:
The Scientific Advisor deals with a portfolio of brands and/or specific projects on a number of different brands.
The job holder will be responsible for sign off of promotional materials across an agreed portfolio of products.
