DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE
The Business Development Assistant, in close cooperation with the MzN management, will work on further developing a software toolkit used for beneficiary data collection in large-scale humanitarian response operations, thereby improving (cost-)efficiency. Resource mobilisation will form an important part of the role and therefore requires a commercially-minded, results-driven individual. It should be noted that this is a start-up role and MzN would expect the successful candidate to be able to show significant resourcefulness, drive and flexibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product development: Fine-tuning design and operational application of toolkit, in cooperation with IT expert, so as to maximize its versatility.
- Resource mobilisation: finding appropriate funding opportunities, writing winning proposals, managing and building donor relations, ensuring financial sustainability in start-up phase
- Project management assistance: in cooperation with MzN management setting milestones and seeing that these are achieved in time and to budget, managing all actors involved in project, monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes.
- Marketing: Building relationships with various stakeholders, convincing them of need for change in large-scale beneficiary data collection; responsible for all external communication on product**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential
- Proven experience and a successful track record in resource mobilisation, with institutional donors (DFID, USAID, EU), Foundations (such as Clinton, Gates) and/or corporate donors
- Maturity in networking at senior level with Donors and NGOs
- A strategic eye for developing and distributing the product, strong initiative
- Good work ethic, prepared to work out-of-hours and to tight deadlines
- Desirable
- Commercial experience in sales and marketing
- IT savvy - needs to understand IT lingo without being a developer
