The European Association of Public Banks (EAPB) gathers member organizations from 17 European Member States and countries, representing directly and indirectly the interests of over 90 financial institutions towards the EU and other European stakeholders. With a combined balance sheet total of about EUR 3,500 billion and a market share of around 15%, EAPB members constitute an essential part of the European financial sector. Currently, the EAPB is recruiting a Communication Officer (f/m).
Scope:
The Communication Officer shall successfully communicate the activities of the Association and manage the information flows to EAPB member organizations. Reporting to the Secretary-General, her or his role will be to create, develop and implement communication plans with the goal of increasing the visibility of the Association in the European public sphere, in particular among EU-decision-makers and the European press, and in optimizing the internal information flows towards the EAPB members. The tasks will include maintaining strong relationships with media representatives, relevant stakeholders and our members.
Key Responsibilities include:
Media Relations and Relations with Key Stakeholders
- Develop a media strategy to increase the visibility of the Association’s activities and positions;
- Liaise with leading EU Affairs and financial journalists and media outlets;
- Analyse media coverage and prepare regular summaries on media exposure of the Association;
- Answer press and other enquiries;
- Develop, maintain and update a database of journalists and media contacts.
Communications
- Write, proofread and edit all types of information material provided by the association to its members and external stakeholders in coordination with our policy experts (press releases, speeches, position papers, website content, newsletters, publications);
- Develop and implement our visual identity (logo, document formats etc.).
Develop Online Communications
- Set-up and manage new website presentation and information tools (audio-visual content, interactive forum with members);
- Keep our website up to date and attractive for all our audiences (members, external EU stakeholders, media);
- Develop online and social media profiles.
Internal Communication
- Set up and coordinate interactive discussion forum between members;
- Organizing and managing database of member target groups (CEOs, experts etc.).
Profile of candidates:
Required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (mother-tongue level);
- Good proficiency in German;
- Dispose of a university degree in media, journalism, or another relevant discipline;
- 3 to 5 years of demonstrably work experience in communications or journalism;
- Proven track-record in designing and implementing communication strategies;
- Be a dynamic, result-oriented team-player;
- Ability to work with modern media and IT;
- Solid knowledge of MS Office applications and other relevant software.
Desirable
- Knowledge of other EU official languages, particularly French;
- Knowledge of financial sector and European policies.
