The Media Relations Unit works within the Public Engagement and Campaigns Team and is responsible for managing media relations and making sure external messaging is accurate, timely, engaging and focused on the right audience.
Working with the team, you will jointly plan and deliver our overall media relations strategy, and lead on a number of projects focusing in particular on our political audience. You’ll work to maximise opportunities in the news agenda to profile our work, and generate and develop content, stories and features.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of what makes stories interesting and attractive to journalists, will understand broadcast, print, online and social media. Experience of political reporting and a network of political correspondents is highly desirable. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is also required as is an active interest in the environment, conservation issues and climate change.
