Campaign Leader

You are an expert in translating complicated themes into clear calls for action from the Dutch public and international audiences. You are driven and an excellent project manager. You have a track record in building successful campaigns that engage the public. You understand the field of lobby and advocacy and you have an eye for (institutional) fundraising opportunities. The Campaign Leader is part of the Advocacy, Campaigning & Communication (ACC) department and reports to the Head of Advocacy, Campaigning and Communication.
Your challenge
How can War Child engage the public and motivate them into action to help more war affected children worldwide? And how can we influence decision makers through our campaigning? You are responsible for the integration of campaign topics into War Child's strategic objectives. You link advocacy objectives with branding (positioning), and marketing and fundraising objectives.
Your responsibilities
You develop and implement (international) campaigns. You advise the Head of ACC regarding priorities on campaigning, and advise which campaigns should be implemented. In close collaboration with the Head of ACC and the ACC team you refine and develop strategic goals and objectives for (international) campaigns serving children affected by armed conflict.
You plan and conduct research into campaign topics and you develop campaign plans (incl. budget overview) of multifaceted advocacy and integrated campaign activities in the Netherlands and internationally. You know how to brief and work with external agencies. You ensure the alignment of War Child's field work with all campaign activities. You play an active role in engaging relevant (international) non-governmental organizations, coalitions, media, and parliamentarians.
Your profile
You have a minimum of 3 years proven experience in campaigning and public mobilization in an international non-governmental organization and/ or (semi) public organization. You have a solid understanding of the (inter)national conflict and post-conflict architecture and the current political framework. In combination with a thorough understanding of current debates you have the ability to leverage this knowledge to drive outcome focused public campaigns with results for children affected by conflict. You are organized, able to manage multiple tasks and to delegate effectively. You are able to respond quickly to changing priorities and to set and work to deadlines. You are a self-starter, personally committed to international development and children affected by armed conflict. You have an eye for detail, strong public speaking skills and excellent project management skills. You have a track record in political lobbying. You are fluent in English and Dutch.
