Service Technician - Mechanical

The role
A position exists for a Service Technician – Mechanical to ensure efficient maintenance of our client's fleet of Sandvik Mining equipment at Parkes.

Key performance areas
  • Carry out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining equipment;
  • Perform mechanical maintenance duties as directed and as per maintenance plans, to a standard that maintains the integrity of the equipment and does not compromise safe operation;
  • Provide relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity;
  • Record keeping of parts usage, equipment monitoring, time records; and
  • Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies.

Your profile
The role will require you to have qualifications in a mechanical trade and a post trade experience of at least 3 years and previous experience working on Diesel Engine systems. Experience in the mining industry working on underground mining and heavy mobile equipment is essential. Computer literacy and knowledge and experience with Sandvik products will be an advantage.
You will have the ability to work as part of an integrated broad team, a strong customer service focus and drive and determination to achieve targets and goals. You must be flexible, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative. This role involves working underground, working at other Sandvik sites and rostered shift work will be required.
