Africa Head Office Financial Controlling Analyst
Business Shared Services (BSS) Budapest is a multi-functional shared service Centre that will handle DIAGEO-wide transactions across various world regions. BSS is a multicultural, multi-language environment.
AHO teams (both in London and in Budapest) support the Africa region which operates 6 separate business units that range from 100% owned (Cameroon) to majority shareholdings in quoted companies (Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Seychelles, and Ghana), and Joint Ventures in South Africa, Reunion, Tanzania and Sierra Leone. These operations are fully integrated supply and demand units and include c15 production sites. The region operates in a volatile environment both politically and economically, complemented by significant growth ambitions.
Dimensions of the role
Financial Controlling Analyst reports to Financial Controlling Manager and closely supports the Africa Finance Controller especially in the Profit In Stock and overhead area and liaises with stakeholders in Budapest, London and African markets.

Responsibilities
The Financial Controlling Analyst would be expected to be responsible for:
- Decision support and ownership for its responsibility area (PIS)
- Stakeholder Management
- Setting work priorities and in general independence of work activities

Purpose of Role
• To take responsibility for the day to day management for the respective Profit and Loss / Balance sheet area
• Possess understanding of Diageo Africa market complexities and responsible for offshore profit calculation.
• Insightful analysis on offshore profit that supports the Financial Controller to make business decisions
• OH analysis for the AHO leadership team
• Planning - Coordinate with markets, sense check and validate the bottom up results to the top down expectation
• Prepare quality reconciliations through deep understanding of the figures supported, reported
• Continuously monitor the respective P&L and BS accounts for any inconsistencies
• To take responsibility for the day to day tasks required
• Prepare and post accruals to ensure the month-end results show the clear and fair picture
• To ensure that financial processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently, on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to in lines with CARM processes
• To maximize benefits of globalized system processes
• To contribute ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the process.
• Ensure smooth and accurate month-end closes
• The jobholder may be instructed by his/her immediate superior to perform all tasks directly or indirectly related, additional or supplementary to the scope of duties defined in this role profile.
Qualifications and experience required
Qualifications
University / College degree in finance / business
Work experience
At least 3-4 years working experience in a multinational corporate environment, with exposure to some of the following areas:
• Preferably strong Financial Accounting / Reporting / Controlling experience
• Internal / external audit experience and/or SOX is an advantage
• Experience with Shared services process activities is an advantage
Language skills
• Fluent English knowledge
PC skills/System knowledge
• MS applications
• Relevant experience with SAP FI /CO modules
• Strong Excel knowledge
Functional Capabilities:
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Relevant degree or proven ability to learn and develop
