Plan’s vision is to reach as many children as possible, particularly those who are excluded or marginalised, with high quality programmes that deliver long lasting benefits. Working in Timor-Leste since 2001, Plan has been helping poor children and youth to access their rights to education, health, livelihoods and protection. We currently work in Aileu, Ainaro and Lautem Districts.
Child sponsorship contributes a significant proportion of Plan’s current income. The dedicated commitment of sponsors provides Plan with both flexible and long term funding which allows it to operate with confidence for considerable periods in the communities where it is tackling high levels of child poverty. Plan Timor Leste are looking for a Sponsorship Manager to lead their sponsorship operations.
You will be a development professional with experience at the community level managing child sponsorship models and frameworks. Able to demonstrate the necessary skills to develop the country’s strategic sponsorship growth and communications plan, you will ensure that Plan TL’s sponsorship system is managed efficiently and effectively and that a growing sponsorship income of $1.5 to 3 Million is retained. With proven management experience you will be able to demonstrate the ability to build Plan TL staff capabilities in all areas of child sponsorship. Previous exposure and understanding of the Timor Leste (or similar) context would be beneficial. Fluent in English you will also have excellent Tetun and/or Bahasa Indonesia (or proven ability to learn a new language).
Type of Role: 2 year fixed term contract
Location: Country Office in Dili with local and occasional international travel (60%)
Reports to:Country Director
Salary:USD$47,000 to $57,000 per annum plus full expat benefits. Whilst this post is not mandatory unaccompanied, please take into consideration that Timor Leste is considered a hardship posting.
