Education Program Coordinator
The Education Program Coordinator is responsible to assist the Program Manager in matters related to the development and management of all the Education programs of Samaritan's Purse (SP) in Kurdistan. This assistance may include assessment of area educational needs, development of curriculum, teaching English, supervising volunteer and staff teachers, program implementation and evaluation, and program reporting directed/delegated by the Program Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development and management of all matters related to SP Kurdistan Education programs.
- Liaise with local Education partners and government representatives as necessary.
- Assist in the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteer and local staff; mobilize and monitor developed team.
- Teach and oversee English courses ranging from Beginner to Advanced level.
- Assist Program Manager in the development and/or procurement of curriculum and supplies required for program activities.
- Coordinate and supervise international volunteer teams as necessary.
- Continually assess and adjust program design and interventions with Program Manager in order to address ongoing needs of the population.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL or another relevant degree from four-year college or university required; 2-3 years of related experience preferred; TEOSAL certification preferred.
- One year of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Above average communication skills – English verbal and written.
- Networking and team building skills will be required.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Cheerful, diplomatic, encourager, concern for the spiritual well-being of the team.
- Spiritual maturity; Ability to keep the focus of work on the overall goal of sharing the gospel.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different educational, linguistic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Strong relational skills and financial management experience preferred.
- Computer proficiency in Ms Word, MS excel spread sheet.
- Proven management and leadership experience.
- Arabic language skills preferred but not required.
24 month contract with the potential for renewal.
