Student Support Officer at University of Leeds

As part of its commitment to providing an excellent student experience and the highest level of support to its students, Leeds University Business School is seeking to appoint a Student Support Officer.  Successful applicants will have excellent interpersonal and team working skills, with a strong customer focus ethos and the ability to identify areas for improvement.  Experienced in providing effective support to staff and students, applicants will be expected to provide direction and support to colleagues, implement student education processes and prioritise a busy workload. 

Experience of working with students is required along with strong problem solving and analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.  You will ideally be working in Higher Education, with an understanding of learning and teaching and a pastoral support background.  You should have significant knowledge and expertise to effectively support student practices and processes. 

Experience of working with students is required, as are excellent skills in Access, Excel and Word; a keen attention to detail along with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.  Flexibility and adaptability are key to this role, as it likely that the role will evolve to meet changing priorities within the Student Education Service, and where necessary you may be required to support other activities as workloads fluctuate.  You will share good practice and encourage knowledge exchange between colleagues to continuous improve student support practices.
