Statoil is an international energy company with operations in 35 countries. Building on 40 years of experience from oil and gas production on the Norwegian continental shelf, we are committed to accommodating the world's energy needs in a responsible manner, applying technology and creating innovative business solutions. We are headquartered in Norway with approx. 21,000 employees worldwide, and are listed on the New York and Oslo stock exchanges.
Half of Statoil’s production comes from our 500 subsea wells. We will go further, deeper and colder to accelerate and increase our production. The future is expected to be dominated by subsea technology that takes us out into deeper water further from shore and marks the start of Arctic challenges. Aasta Hansteen development is expected to lead the way out to deeper water and subsea solutions will play an important role in the development of new discoveries in the Barents Sea, such as Skrugard and Havis.

Job description

  • The Subsea Delivery Team (SDT) is responsible for all major subsea deliveries to Statoil development projects. It is SDT’s mandate to align and coordinate the projects towards the subsea contractors and secure uniform and effective project execution, thus extracting synergies. SDT shall facilitate standardisation, optimise delivery times and cost. SDT represents the very best within subsea delivery and we are now looking for a candidate that can assist in creating a database that can be used to benchmark incoming Contractor cost estimates. Benchmarks are very valuable when it comes to verifying Contractor estimates and show uncertainties as well as showing the potential saving. Knowing how to use these benchmarking tools is very important: in fact, when used properly, benchmarking is a powerful tool to challenge the cost and concept solution.
  • The SDT benchmark database shall be based on an excel benchmark database developed by the estimating dept. in Statoil. The SDT sits on a lot of cost history that needs to be benchmarked and stored in this new database. Upon completing the database, the candidate will run and test the database against incoming Contractor cost estimates.
  • In addition to creating and testing the SDT benchmark database, the candidate will be able to participate in subsea projects and will be given specific subsea tasks.
  • The summer internship will give you an introduction of some of the various tasks within Statoil, and give some insight how it is to work in our company.
