Sandvik Mining (SM) is now looking for a Competence Development Manager for Global Sales, who will represent Sales in the SM Competence Development Network. This role is responsible for providing efficient and effective Sales competence-development solutions across SM to meet the business needs and priorities for improved performance in close cooperation with Product Area (PA) Competence Development and the central SM Competence development function, in accordance with our mutual way of working.
The key stakeholders within SM for this position are the Sales Management Team, HR Business Partners, Head of Competence Development and SM Management Team.
Key performance areas
As Competence Development Manager for Global Sales you ensure that the sales training and competence development offering is effectively aligned with business needs and priorities. This you do by closing the identified gap/need, and making efficient use of time and resources. You are responsible for the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of competence-development solutions, thus supporting the long-term needs of the Mining Sales organization by:
  • Identifying, creating and implementing training programs to meet the needs of the business
  • Evaluating training program effectiveness and implementing improvements
  • Developing programs and initiatives to secure future talent and competencies
  • Identifying, developing and implementing clear career paths and opportunities for employees
This position involves travel about 25% of the workweek.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in a relevant area, or equivalent experience gained from other work, and experience with learning and competence development in a global matrix organization. Experience from working in sales, close to the customers and the mining industry is advantageous, as is having worked with project management or co-ordination. You have excellent skills in English, both in writing and speaking, while knowledge of Swedish, Spanish or Russian is a plus.
