Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Sandvik Thermal Process, Inc., offers a complete range of furnace systems, heating elements and accessories for use throughout the semiconductor and photovoltaic thermal process. Products include complete rebuilds, retrofits, redesign and engineering support for existing furnaces as well as new systems and components—either as standard products or custom-made for specific requirements.
Key performance areas
We are looking for skilled manufacturing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) assemblers to work on a variety of projects, from a single piece to entire capital equipment orders. This role may involve working in a class 100 clean room and some orbital welding. Besides basic assembly and wiring tasks--drilling and tapping holes in metal frames and brackets, resizing brackets/panels, frames and related components; mounting/installing electrical mechanical components and panels; and crimping/terminating preliminary system assembly wires--you must be able to:
  • Assemble electronic instruments, electrical/mechanical assemblies of systems and subassemblies
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, design drawings and wiring diagrams and to wire point-to-point from reading the schematic
  • Repair, construct and assemble plumbing components, plumbing/mechanical and plumbing electrical/mechanical assemblies of systems and subassemblies
  • Become a contributing member of a 3- to 5-person team
As the electro-mechanical assembler, you will be responsible for installing and wiring furnace assemblies, subassemblies and component parts; performing on-line, go-no-go testing; and running quality check inspections as well as defined equipment test procedures. This job is done in a manufacturing setting and you must follow all safety policies and procedures. This position may require that you sometimes lift objects that can weigh 50 or more pounds.
Your profile
You must have a high school diploma (or GED) and six months’ related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
We also require that you be able to:
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts from algebra and geometry
  • Solve practical problems in situations in which only limited standardization exists
  • Interpret a variety of written, oral, diagram or schedule form instructions
  • Look up parts or instructions using a computer
