ROVING ACCOUNTING MANAGER
CARE USA is looking for a Roving Accounting Manager who serves the country offices as interim accounting manager for up to six months at a time. S/He will use the regular accounting manager job description (see attachment) and any specific terms of references (TOR) or scope of work (SOW) developed for the assignment.
While not serving as interim Accounting Manager, the Roving Accounting Manager works on special projects and other duties as assigned by the line manager. These duties include but are not limited to training materials development, participation in systems upgrade, improvement and testing, etc.
The accounting manager’s primary location is his/her home of records. When deployed, the roving accounting manager is based in the country of assignment and reports to the finance director or equivalent position in that CO. When not deployed, the roving accounting manager reports to the Director of Financial Management Capacity Building.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
· Data Processing and Accounting Systems Implementation
· Period Closing and Financial Reporting
· Team management, talent and staff development
· Treasury and Cash Functions
· Audit support, other general tasks and special assignment
· Perform the specific assignments provided in the approved scope of work (SOW) from CO management or regional management unit
· When not deployed to COs, participate in training materials and user manuals development, systems upgrade and testing, and perform other duties and special assignments as assigned by the line manager
Qualifications (Know-How):
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management or equivalent
· 5 to 7 years as Accounting Supervisor, Senior Accountant or equivalent relevant experience in non-profit finance and accounting;
· 7+ years’ experience in non-profit financial and accounting in developing countries;
· Good understanding of US GAAP and international donor compliance frameworks;
· Good understanding of CARE’s core business
