Chief Director: Export Promotion and Development

Permanent management level position in the Transport & Aviation sector in Pretoria in South Africa (Gauteng).

Job Description

Duties:

• Take overall responsibility for designing, delivering, implementing and monitoring a National Export Strategy which identifies both export development and promotion strategies in the medium and long term.
• Define an external market strategy through priority market definitions and foreign office export promotion programmes.
• Engage with local and foreign private sector companies within industry at executive levels and manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Effectively manage the financial and human resources in the business unit.
• Direct the development of programmes for potential exports identified as export-ready.

Requirements:

• A business-related postgraduate qualification
• A Master's degree will be an added advantage
• At least 8 years' relevant experience in the private sector or as a Senior Manager in Government
• Cutting-edge knowledge of the relevant economic sectors, as defined by the National Industrial Policy Framework
• The ability to forge partnerships with relevant public and private sector organisations
• A valid driver’s licence
