National and/or International Consultancy to Revise the existing National Action Plan for Children (2006 – 2015)
UNICEF Skopje is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct a thorough revision of the country’s National Action Plan for Children (2006 – 2015) in line with the recommendations issued by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in June 2010, as well as the recommendations from the latest European Commission expressed in the Commission’s regular progress report of the country towards fulfilling the EU membership criteria.
Project duration: 25 working days over 4 months (20 February – 20 June 2011)
Qualifications:
An advanced degree in human rights (child rights focus preferred), social sciences, social policy or related fields
At least 5 years of experience in the area of child/human rights, development of multi-sectoral strategies and action plans, and monitoring of implementation of laws.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of Macedonian will be considered an asset
Prior experience in working with UNICEF and/or other international organizations committed to safeguarding the rights of children is preferred
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent report writing, communication and inter-personal skills
