Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development and food security to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 90 projects in 40 countries and revenues of $124 million.

We are seeking a D.C.-based Deputy Director to provide technical assistance on project implementation, proposal development and to increase the technical capacity of the Agribusiness portfolio. Responsibilities are to deliver and oversee detailed technical contributions to meet project-specific needs; identify and assist with developing project tools, resources and staff necessary to deliver target interventions; and provide strategic, technical and managerial direction on competitive proposal efforts in accordance with financial and regulation requirements. A bachelor's degree in international development, agriculture, finance or economics plus a minimum of five years of experience within an international development capacity, including overseas work is required; a master's degree is strongly preferred. Knowledge of USAID rules, regulations and policies plus familiarity with at least one other donor is highly desirable. Candidates must also possess strong oral, written, analytical and organizational skills; and a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and the internet as a research tool. Fluency in at least one other language is strongly preferred.
